March 2005: New CD Samo Salamon Sextet: Ela's Dream will come out in March 2005 on the Italian label Splasch Records and it will feature great musicians like Dave Binney, Achille Succi, Kyle Gregory, Paolino Dalla Porta and Zlatko Kaucic! September 2004: New projects to be recorded in New York with some
of the best jazz musicians in the world:
August 2004: A new record Ela's Dream, which was recorded in April 2004 with Dave Binney, Kyle Gregory, Achille Succi, Paolino Dalla Porta and Zlatko Kaucic will come out in January 2005 on the italian label Splasc(h) Records)!!!!!!!!!!! May 2004: The project in New York will be recorded in December 2004 with a fantastic new band featuring Dave Binney, Josh Roseman, Drew Gress and as a guest on three tunes Ralph Alessi. The drummer will hopefully be the great Ben Perowsky! April 2004: Planned are two or three gigs in the beginning of July (3,4,5) with a great quartet featuring PAUL McCANDLESS, ARES TAVOLAZZI and ZLATKO KAUCIC!!!!!! February 2004: Samo is headed for New York in November and December 2004, where he is planning to record two projects with some of the best players from the New York jazz scene like Dave Binney, Chris Speed and some other great players. A new homepage is finally done, with lots of new info, pictures, mp3's, interviews, reviews... January 2004: A new tour and a new recording is planned for April 2004 with a fantastic new band featuring new compositions by Samo and also by Zlatko Kaucic and Dave Binney: SAMO SALAMON SEXTET feat. DAVE BINNEY:
The tour will be held from the 11th till the 19th April 2004 in Slovenia and Croatia. November 2003: There will be two concerts of the Ornethology Quartet with the great trumpet player Kyle Gregory in Italy in December: 9th December in Rome and 10th December in Friuli. Being discussed are also two new projects:
October 2003: Planned are three projects for next year: - straight ahead trio with the great drummer from New Orleans, Jeff Boudreaux - free jazz/avantgarde quintet with Edoardo Marraffa, Tristan Honsinger, Luigi Mosso and Zlatko Kaucic - free / straight ahead sextet with Achille Succi, Gianluca Petrella, Salvatore Maiore, Zlatko Kaucic and hopefully also with the great trumpet player Kenny Wheeler September 2003: Samo Šalamon Ornethology Quartet will play (confirmed) on the Skopje Jazz Festival this year. Achille Succi will be replaced by the great trombone player from the Enrico Rava Quartet, Gianluca Petrella. April 2003: Samo Šalamon Ornethology Quartet will play on the 44th Ljubljana Jazz Festival in Krizanke on the 26th June, before that there are dates in Maribor (25), Celje (24) and Domzale (23). January 2003: Samo Salamon will in from 18 - 22 February ecord
a new project with the great saxophonist Achile Succi, bass player Salvatore
Maiore and the great drummer Zlatko Kaucic. They will record just Samo's
compositions and the tunes of Ornette Coleman Broadway Blues and Humpty
Dumpty. The whole project is more straight ahead - free jazz oriented.
